Meir [ Halevi]  Eshel -Patish  was born in Rishon Lezion ISRAEL where he attended the First School of Modern Music & Jazz in Tel Aviv  , studying Saxophone & Guitar.

During the years 1970-1973 Meir served as a guitar & saxophone player in Military Troupes. 

1973-1976 Meir has studied Piano & harmony with Professor Tzvi Keren & Classical Guitar with Menashe Bakish in Tel Aviv.

1977-1979 Meir studied Theory, Harmony & Piano at the Julliard School Of Music in New-York U.S.A.

In 1982 Meir obtained a BA in Music[Cum Laude] from the Berklee College of Music in Boston U.S.A . During his time there he majored in Film Music with Saxophone as his principle instrument, doubling on Clarinet & Flute.

After graduating from Berklee, Meir studied classical composition with professor Hugo Norden( Boston University) and was accepted for the Master of Music program at the University of Miami.  

An offer by the Technikon Pretoria to lecture in Light Music brought him to South Africa. He lectured there between the years 1985-1988. Meir directed various student shows including "Stars" and conducted at the first"Technikon Pretoria Big Band Gala", for which he composed, arranged, and played Lead Alto Saxophone.

In South Africa, Meir has scored several films: "Lethal Woman" (also Known as "The Most Dangerous Woman Alive"), "Red Elephants"  a two-part series for SABC TV 1, "Baby Brown", "Revenge of Q", "The Dark Warrior".

Additionally, Meir has played, and arranged for various TV programs including "Fast Forward", "No Jacket Required", "Soveel Slim Stories", "Late Night Session".

Meir's commercial output in South Africa includes Jingles for "John Orrs" and theme music for a corporate video "Persetel".

Meir composed, arranged,produced, and played on two Chassidic Albums in   South Africa,"Orah Vezimrah" featuring Uri Sommer and "Duo Olami" featuring Moshe Schulhoff & Colin Schachat. He also arranged a Choral Work for J.J.M. Choir, one of the finest groups of its kind with an international reputation.

Meir owns"ACCORD MUSIC" ,a  Label that was established in South Africa, and owns the World Rights for several Masters of South African Music including the album "You Got Me Dancing" with the artist  "Lucky Mereki".

In South Africa Meir Owned "MIDITONE" Recording Studio that recorded various artists.

1992-1993 Meir had arranged for "YUVAL" symphonic concerts for cantors at the "Mann Auditorium" in Tel Aviv.

1993-1999 Meir owned and managed the “HAMEDINAH" recording studio in Tel- Aviv, recording Aviv Gefen’s Gold album "Hamichtav" and Jingles,Playbacks and Fillers for Israel's T.V & Radio.

1999-2003 Ownership & Management  of "E-MIX" recording studios in Tel –Aviv, where two Gold album were recorded: "Ga'agua"- Yehudit Ravitz, " Yachasim Ptuchim "–Monica Sex.

Meir arranged produced & recorded "A Treasury of Lubavitcher Nigunim" 1-5.

2003 -  compositions,arrangements, and production for the C.D. "Lo Lefached Klal" by the "wonder boy" Doody Hertz.

2003-2009 Ownership & Management   of " 2 INCH FLORENTIN"  recording studios  in Tel –Aviv ,Recording the  album " Shuv Hchiyuch" –"Beit Habubot.

2004-2018, Arranged, produced and recorded the the following albums:

  • Jewish Soul Guitar"  1 – 7" 

  • Jewish Soul Violin"  1 – 3 

  • "Jewish Soul Woodwinds"

  • "JewishSoul Brass" 
     

2014 – Produced and conducted a Big Band jazz concert featuring "NEW YORK VOICES" at"Heichal HaTarbut" Hall in Rishon Lezion.

2016 – Produced jazz concert of  "TANIA MARIA" quartet "  at Heichal HaTarbut" Hall in Rishon Lezion.
